Chestnut Went to Vermont for the Holidays

Hi Abby...
I went to Vermont for Christmas. On the way back we stopped in Newburgh, New York. I had seen George Washington's Office in Virginia and now got to see where, as General Washington, he had his winter office with the troops. There was so much to see in New York but the weather wasn't the best so didn't take a lot of pictures We went through apple country as well as along the Hudson River. I sent you some post cards.

Before we left to head home I visited with cousins Trey and Calum. They are BIG NY Giants fans as you can see. Christmas in Vermont was great but not white. When we got there it was snowy but it rained very hard on Christmas Eve and the snow was washed away.

On our way back to Virginia not only did we stop in New York but we spent some time in Pennsylvania. Wow, did I learn a lot. There is lots of history around the Philadelphia with the Liberty Bell and where the United States was created but did you know the first oil well in the United States was drilled in western Pennsylvania. I always thought it was in Texas. We stopped in Hershey, PA where Hershey chocolate is made. The smell was incredible and even the streets are named for candy. The lights look like Hershey candy kisses. Did you know that Hershey, PA is actually part of Derry Township, PA? We went by Chocolate World. It was full of people, candy and lots of other bears.

We finally got back to Virginia. Boy was I tired from the nearly 10 hour drive. Going to rest for a few days then Aunt Ellie and Uncle Ron are going to take me to Florida. Lots to see along the way. Will keep you up to date. Going to bed now.

Edzo Bear Visits Germany

Hi Aidan!
I had a great time in Germany with Caitlyn! We visited Berlin and saw the Berlin Wall, The Brandenburg Gate and lots of museums. We also spent time at the Christmas Markets in Munich, Nuremburg and Rothenburg. I met so many interesting people and ate lots of Brautwurst, Schnitzel and especially Pretzels.

Germany is in Europe located right in between Poland and France. It also boarders Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands AND Denmark. Here are some pictures of me in the city of Berlin which is in the North part of Germany, right by Poland. It was very cold so I'm glad I had my winter hat. There is so much to see in Berlin and a lot of history from World War II.

Hope you had a great Christmas! I can't wait for my next adventure!

Coffee's Final CA Update

This will be my last update from Los Angeles as I am headed next to Florida, AKA the Sunshine State.
I knew I was in southern Cali when I saw those beautiful blue skies and palm trees. Love it here.

Tracy and Molly work in Hollywood, the home of the entertainment industry (which includes film, television and music.) The earliest movie production companies set up shop in Los Angeles in the early 1900's because of the great weather and plentiful shooting locations. Hollywood has been home to movie makers ever since. In the pic below if you look in the very distance you can just barely make out the iconic HOLLYWOOD sign. Believe it or not that tiny sign is actually 45 feet tall in real life. Another interesting fact: the sign is privately owned and trademarked, which means if you want to use it in your TV show or movie you have to get a special permit and pay the sign's owner thousands of dollars to do so! Also, the local residents HATE when tourists stop in their street to take pictures. But we were cool--just jumped in and out of the car really quickly to get this shot and didn't bother anyone! I hope!

We went down to the Walk of Fame where over 2000 movie stars and other entertainment luminaries are celebrated with their names in brass on pink stars in the sidewalk. Even fictional characters sometimes get a star. Godzilla is the only monster to have one so far.

I also got to see several costumed characters from the movies! Here I am with Darth Vader!

I felt a great disturbance in the force...but it was only Darth squeezing me a little too tight!

This is Selena Gomez, well, a wax statue of her anyway. Tracy and Molly had no idea who she was but I made them take my picture with her because I am a huge fan!
so lifelike!

Next I got to do something really cool. Tracy snuck me into the prop house at Universal Studios. All the movie studios have their own prop houses where they store lots of furniture and decorations to use in their moves. Since Tracy is a set decorator she goes there all the time. We found some statues of other famous Hollywood legends. Some of them I was familiar with, others were old time stars from yesteryear I had never heard of.

ET was getting into the holiday spirit.

Help!! Get me out of here!!

I know this Jaws shark is fake but I must say it was a bit unnerving to be near all those teeth, even as a joke!

This is another movie monster from back in the day. His name is King Kong. This was one of my favorites photos to pose for because I got to chat with the pretty doll King Kong is holding. She was very friendly and not afraid of the giant gorilla at all--she said he's just a big baby at heart.

Well I had a great time in LA. I hope to visit again some time, but like I said, for now it's FLORIDA OR BUST!!!

Bye Molly and Tracy! See you next time!

Cuddles Travels from Texas to Georgia to New Hampshire

Dec 22nd:
The trip back east took all day.  We started on the light rail in Dallas to get to DFW (the larger of Dallas' two airports).
Inline image 1
We got the extra leg room seats on the plane (although I don't think I really needed it).
Inline image 2

We landed in Detroit, Michigan to change planes - it's a nice airport with a very cool lighted tunnel.
Inline image 3

After about 2 hours, we took off and headed on to Atlanta Georgia (ATL).  That airport was amazing - it is the largest and busiest airport in the world today.  And they display a lot of art there, so walking through all the pathways keeps you entertained.

Finally, we landed in New Hampshire and headed to the house for some rest.  Which was good, because the next day we went to the Currier Museum of Art and spent hours looking at really neat things done by M.C. Escher (I've sent you something in the mail that I think you'll like).

Yesterday we had a quiet day as I am heading on to Arkansas next.  It was very quiet where they live - lots of woods and land - the neighbors even have chickens.
Inline image 6

I hope to be in touch soon.  I had a great time with Auntie Kymberly and Uncle Alan.  They showed me lots of neat stuff and so many different places.
Until next time!

Cuddles is in Texas

Dec 17th:
I'm in Texas now.  Yesterday we took a walk around downtown Dallas.  It is BIG!
Inline image 3

One stop we made was Dealey Plaza.  It was known as the "Front Door" to Dallas, but since 1963 it is more famously known as the assassination site of President John F. Kennedy.

There are tunnels under the buildings in Dallas to walk around - I think it's mostly so people don't get too hot in the summer time.  In the evening we did more walking around and found some cactus plants!

It's been a fun visit to Texas, but tomorrow we head on to Michigan, Georgia and New Hampshire.
Adios!

Dec 15th:

After yesterday's escapades, we all slept in this morning. When we all got up, we made pancakes, and had coffee and tea together and just relaxed.

After that, I took a little ride on the merry go round horse and played with the penguins in the fountain.

The place we stayed was right on the lake and the monorail.  It was pretty neat and I really enjoyed our stay.

Tomorrow we leave for Texas - I'm looking forward to it!

Cuddles is Enjoying the Disney Resorts

Dec 14th:
I enjoyed Florida so much the first time, I was thrilled to go back with Auntie Kymberly and Uncle Alan to visit Uncle Brad and Aunt Laura again. This time we spent the weekend visiting Disney Resorts to see all of their holiday decorations.
Inline image 2
We went to the Grand Floridian to check out their gingerbread house - it's VERY big! People are actually inside of it selling gingerbread cookies...

Inline image 3
Then we went on to the Polynesian and got some food at the Wave.

Inline image 4
Inline image 5
After that, we did a little shopping and I made some friends in the bins...

I've had a long day - I think it's time to catch some sleep.

Good night and "See You Real Soon"!

Cuddles' Adventures

Dec 3rd:
I arrived in Denver, Colorado today. The first thing I heard on the airport train was that there are 300 days of sun in Colorado! I am finding it a little hard to breathe here as the air is thinner now that I'm a mile above sea level. We stopped on the way home to see a house that had a wonderful lighting display that "danced" to the song from Frozen.

Dec 6th:
Yesterday Auntie Kymberly and Uncle Alan and I drove up to a place called Vail. It is in the Rocky Mountains. Today they took me skiing and at the top of one of the ski lifts there a was a sign naming the building "Two Mile High Station". If the air was think in Denver, it is even more thin here in Vail!

Dec 11th:
What a fun week back in Denver. We got a hotel room in downtown Denver. We walked to dinner every night. During the day I went to work with Auntie Kymberly. She works at a flight training center where airline pilots practice flying in simulators. And I got spend an hour with Uncle Alan flying in a 737 sim! We did all sorts of fun things like doing barrel rolls, and flying fog at SFO (that is how they refer to San Francisco airport), and landing at night in Denver's airport (known as DEN).

Doing the barrel rolls was probably my favorite part.  :)
Until the next adventure!
