Cinnamon is in Seattle, Washington

Hello! Can you believe I'm in Seattle Washington? It's very green and lush here.
I'm a little tired because I'm usually napping in a cave around now, but Mr Wadden's 2 kids, Olympia and Garek, are so much fun I don't mind. Mr Wadden says that we'll have some adventures in the next week, and then I'll be able to rest during another journey in my special traveling hibernatory.
Love,
Cinnamon.

Albert is in Carthage, MO

We wanted to write you a note to say that Albert has been spending the last several weeks in Carthage, Mo. He arrived just in time to help us with a remodel job on our house. He has been a great deal of help so he stayed a little longer than we anticipated! On a positive note he has learned to put in new flooring, lighting and has some painting experience too.

Carthage is a great little town in Southwest Missouri. It is very beautiful here; especially in the Autumn. I have included a picture of Albert with Faron in front of our Historic County Court House.

Carthage has an interesting history. If you enjoy learning about the Civil War you should research the Battle of Carthage. We mentioned it in Albert's journal.

Albert will be leaving Carthage tomorrow and is headed for Snyder, TX. I hope he has fun there!

Thank you for letting him visit us!

Stephen is in Las Vegas

Stephan is welcomed to Las Vegas, a wonderful city of illusion & entertainment.

The Bellagio Hotel Conservatory is celebrating Chinese New Year, the Year of the Horse. Stephen admiring the giant metallic horse.

Stephan at the Money Tree and the giant incense burner. Stephan tossed coins into the incense burner wishing for love, happiness & prosperity for his family.

Stephan watching children made completely of fresh flowers.

Stephan was introduced to the Court Jester of the Carnevale di Venezia.

Stephan in the Grand Lobby of the Venetian Hotel. Now he knows what Venice must have looked when it was new!

Stephan admiring the ceiling in the Grand Lobby. The ceiling is a breathtaking replica of the famous walkway to the Sistine Chapel at the Vatican in Rome, Italy.

Stephan watched the Living Statue at St. Marks Square. The statue is alive, but does not move or speak.
However, when Stephan was leaving, the Living Statue winked at Stephan.

Stephan at the Gold Fountain of the World in the Grand Lobby, Venetian Hotel.

Stephan resting in a display of giant Chinese gold coins.

Stephan is at the Year of the Horse display. In Chinese culture, the horse is a symbol of power.

After leaving the Bellagio Hotel, Stephan & I travelled to Venice, aka the Venetian Hotel. Stephan is hoping for a gondola ride down the Grand Canal with a singing gondolier.

Stephan heard a performance by the Carnevale di Venezia at St. Marks Square.

Ted's Travels

Hi Proctor friends,

It’s TED!
I know it’s been a while, but I have been on a wild trip! I’ve traveled to different countries and to several islands in the Caribbean Sea. Not only have I been all over Texas, Atlanta, Georgia (just a flight layover), Miami, Florida and New York City, but I’ve also been to London, England, the Bahamas, St Thomas US Virgin Islands, and St Martin (an island that is half Dutch and half French).

Interestingly, each place has its own money, but all of the places except England accepted my US dollars. England had something called “Pounds”. I thought that was what I weighed, and I never could figure out how to trade in my weight for a hamburger and fries at McDonald’s on the river Thymes in London (yes they have McDonald’s in other countries). It is just across the river from the biggest clock I’ve ever seen – Big Ben. It is hooked to England’s Parliament House. I almost fell into the river, but luckily, my new friend Allen caught me and took care of me. It was a VERY close call (picture 1).

What did I see and learn? Well, it is way too much for one blog, so I will write a few blogs over the next few weeks. I’m fixin’ (yes, I learned a new Texas word) to get back into my box and travel to Colorado. I CAN’T WAIT. I’m ready to see some snow. I should be there sometime next week.

So, for today, let me tell you about the ship – the Norwegian Getaway (picture 2). It is brand new. I was amongst the very first people to ever sail on her, and I sailed on her twice – once for 10 days across the Atlantic Ocean from Southampton, England to New York City and again for 7 days from Miami throughout the Caribbean Sea. She is made of steel, weighs 146,600 tons, carries 4,028 passengers and has 1,640 crew members. She is 18 stories tall, 1062 feet long (that’s over 3 and half football fields laid end-to-end), and she floats! Amazing! ! Her hull was inspired and designed by Miami artist, David “Lebo” Le Batard. Not only did I get to meet him in person, I got to have dinner with him not once, but twice. He was so nice. He even signed my new ship model which is with me in my box. I am including a couple of pictures of the ship (pictures 3 - 5).

Anyway, I’ve got to rush off to the post office for my next travels. I can’t wait to tell you more! Until next time, take care, my friends.

Ted (and Allen)

Coffee's Road Trip to Tennessee

Road trip to Chattanooga Tennessee

2-14-14 We left early on Valentine’s day, I sat on the front dash board of the car most of the way. It was about a 2 ½ hour ride. Once we arrived we went down town Chattanooga to the Chattanooga Choo Choo. They have trains that are actually hotel rooms there. We rode the tour bus all around Chattanooga. Had fun sightseeing and taken pictures. We later went to the Tennessee Valley Railroad and got to take a ride on a train. Later in the day Keenan and I surprised Sandy with a dozen wooden roses. She loved them. She said she would have them forever.

2-15-14 We got up early and went to Ruby Falls, and Incline Railway . Ruby falls was down in the caverns in Look Out Mountain, It was very interesting but dark at times. The falls were beautiful and when you got close enough you got sprayed from the mist of the falls. On the incline railway we rode a train a mile up a 72.7 degree grade to the top of the mountain for some beautiful views of the Tennessee valley. The ride was very steep but I liked it. We also took a ride to see the Walnut Street Pedestrian Bridge, it was originally a railroad bridge built in 1891 and transformed into the longest pedestrian bridge in the world.

2/16/14 We went to Rock City and Raccoon Caverns today. At Rock city we walked across a swinging bridge, it was sort of scary, I was afraid the bridge would break, we saw many different natural rock formations, and plant species, saw many spectacular views at Lookout point. At one point in rock city you can see seven states standing in one spot. Raccoon caverns were very similar to Ruby Falls without the falls. While we were touring Raccoon caverns we saw several tiny bats hanging from the ceiling on the caves sleeping, we also saw two different species of Salamanders. I thought this was cool.  We were so close to the bats and they didn’t wake up.

2/17/14 Today was history day we visited the Chickamauga-Chattanooga National Battlefield Lookout Mountain Visitor Center, Point Park, New York Monument, Cravens House, the Chattanooga, National Cemetery, Silverdale Confederate Cemetery, then on the way back to Georgia, we stopped and took the driving audio tour of Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park, this was the actual battlefield 150 years ago. I’ll be bringing home literature of the war, way too much to write about.

Blades is in Philadelphia

I have made it to Philadelphia, the city of brotherly love. Philadelphia is the largest city in Pennsylvania and an important city in our countries history. Philadelphia was a meeting place for the founding fathers of the United States and The Declaration of Independence was signed here in 1776. Philadelphia was home to one of the most important Americans in our history, Ben Franklin. Ben Franklin was born in Boston as you probably know but when he was 17 he moved to Philadelphia and made quite a mark our city. He was responsible for so many things that you can still visit in the city today, the country’s first Post Office, the first Fire Department and the first hospital. Ben Franklin was so important that they named a huge bridge after him and there is a wonderful Science Museum that is name after him too. I got to visit it with your cousins Jack, Drew and Cole.
There were many famous movies that were filmed in Philadelphia but probably the most famous was Rocky, in the picture you can see the Art Museum of Philadelphia and the steps that “Rocky” climbed in the movie. It is a thrill to climb them and when you get to the top you see an incredible view of the city in front of you.
It has been great to visit my cousins and see the historical city of Philadelphia. My journey with Auntie has now come to an end and I am being packed up and sent to my next destination…….not sure where I will be when you hear from me next…….
Love,
 Blades
