Cuddles Sets Sail!

Hi,

Well I survived the trip and sleep over aboard the Queen Mary. I learned so much about this historic vessel.

I think I may be related to this handsome devil. He is QUITE large though. It's just like checking into a hotel. This is the Valet, perhaps a cousin?

I survived the midnight ghost hunt. We took this picture in a creepy empty ballroom. I was very glad when it was over.

This is my new friend Jamie. She took very good care of me on the tour.

The views were amazing, especially at night.

Even from a porthole!

This is a giant replica of the entire ship. That's Chris, she's the Birthday girl. She's trying to stay out of the picture. But it's such a giant ship.

So my hostess tells me we are going to go to the World Famous San Diego Zoo this weekend and Balboa Park. It's been warm again. Another 80+ degree day!!

More pictures to follow. Then I am flying to Arizona!

Caramel Visits New York

Dear Elsa,

Caramel visited New York this past month and spent time in the country and the city together with Max and our whole family.

Since January was very cold and wintry weather, she snuggled inside most days! She visited the small town of High Falls, about 100 miles north of New York City, and enjoyed watching beautiful snowfalls there. She returned to the city, and spent some time playing with Max and his friends. She even got to meet our shy cat Boris!

Caramel walked Max to school in the snow, and then traveled by bus and subway into the city to the neighborhood near Columbus Circle.

From there, she started on her journey to the Midwest, where she will next get in touch with you!

Kenny Has Arrived in Sunny South Florida

After a long ride to Ft. Lauderdale I have arrived safe and sound. Leaving the cold and snowy Topsfield the warm sunshine really feel good.
Yesterday Aunt Tina took me to spin class with her, my first ride on a stationary bike, tried it myself, then decided it was a lot more fun just being the passenger.

Later in the afternoon we had to go to Miami to do an errand for Alberto. I learned that Miami is only a little over 300 miles from the Island of Cuba and that the Hispanic population is over 65%. Aunt Tina told me that I would hear a lot of Spanish spoken and boy did we ever! It really made me want to study hard to learn another language.

I was pretty tired after my trip here and my day so I just wanted to chill by the pool, have a coke and turn in early.

We have adventures planned and will send pictures. I wish you were here in the Sunshine State.

Chuckels Goes Hiking in VA

Hi Grady,

On January 30, my hosts took me to Virginia to go hiking along the Virginia Creeper Trail.

It was a short ride from the cabin where I have been staying, and we got to hike on a section of the trail in Damascus, Virginia. Originally, the Virginia Creeper was a railroad line that ran from North Carolina into Virginia in the early 1900’s. Lumber was carried on the trains. Today, it has been turned into a 34 mile trail for hiking, bicycling and horseback riding.

I got my picture taken on a caboose and an old engine that used to be part of the railroad and on a trestle on the trail.

Then we went to Bristol, Tennessee, which is the birthplace of country music. In 1927, Ralph Peer, a record producer, set up a temporary music studio. He recorded 76 songs by 19 artists in 12 days. These recordings launched the country music industry. I had my picture taken by the sign marking this site and by the large guitar just down the street.

I’ve really enjoyed my time in Tennessee, North Carolina, and Virginia, and in the next couple of days, I will be headed to warmer weather in Florida.

3. Wine tasting (don't worry, I didn't have any)
4. Dinner party - I was in charge of roasting the asparagus.

5. We are eating so healthy. My farmers market basket!

6. Trevor made me some clothes. Funny.

7. I helped make a delicious and beautiful pear tart.

8. We went to the cat show. I'm not that fond of cats.

11. January 24th and it's 80 degrees!

I'm going to go the Queen Mary this weekend. We are spending the night, and there is a midnight ghost tour. I have to admit, I'm a little nervous! I hope to get to the zoo soon!

Thanks!

Blue's Adventures

Greetings Team Murphy,

Sorry I haven't written in awhile I have been so busy traveling. Here are a few highlights from my latest adventures.

Here is me with the biggest Croc in Florida - hahahaha

I got to have lots of my favorite fruit, oranges. Did you know Christopher Columbus brought over the first citrus to the New World in 1493. The early Spanish explorers planted the first orange trees around St. Augustine, Florida between 1513-1565. The heritage left behind in citrus was destined to blossom into an industry worth billions of dollars.

Blue's adventures continued

After Florida I got to travel with Mia's dad. There's me in his suitcase.

This is the Trans America building. This is the tallest skyscraper in the San Francisco skyline. It was so fun attending meetings with Mia's dad. I learned that he helps people retire on their own terms.

and here is the view from our window.
