Hot Dog Spent Time in Georgia

We have had Natalya’s bear, Hot Dog, for the past few weeks here in Watkinsville, GA. Watkinsville is a town just outside of Athens, GA, known as the Classic City and home to the University of Georgia. Sports are a very big part of the culture here and our life as well and Hot Dog came along for the ride. The end of basketball season was the first adventure. In the basketball picture, Hot Dog is being held by Breleigh on the shoulders of family friend David Pollack, former college and professional football player and now current analyst for ESPN’s Thursday night football and College GameDay programs. Also in picture are Breleigh’s brothers Carson and Camron as well as Davey’s kids Nicholas (#35) and Leah. In the south, we are able to start baseball season quite early and after practice (the team is the Classic City Yankees) one day we took Hot Dog to Eagle Tavern in downtown Watkinsville. Eagle Tavern is a local landmark famous for its role as a stopping point for travelers for either lodging, food, or drink. It has been in the same location for over 200 years, as it was built in 1801. Our final stop that day was downtown Athens and the University of Georgia’s campus. We took Hot Dog to see Sanford Stadium, one of the largest on-campus stadiums in the country where 90,000+ fans gather on Saturdays in the fall to cheer on the University of Georgia Bulldogs. Hopefully Hot Dog had as much fun with us and we did with him. Thanks Natalya for sending him our way!

Thanks for conducting this project! A great way for kids to learn and see all the great places our country has to offer!
