Marshmallow visited a national historic landmark San Xavier del Bac.
Mission San Xavier del Bac is a historic Spanish Catholic mission located about 10 miles south of downtown Tucson, Arizona, on the Tohono O'odham San Xavier Indian Reservation. A National Historic Landmark, San Xavier was founded as a Catholic mission by Father Eusebio Kino in 1692. Construction of the current church began in 1783 and was completed in 1797. It is the oldest intact European structure in Arizona, the church's interior is filled with marvelous original statuary and mural paintings. It is a place where visitors can truly step back in time and enter an authentic 18th Century space.
Marshmallow’s favorite stop, by far, has been the Tucson Botanical Gardens. She experienced the diversity of native plants found in the lush oasis of the Tucson desert AND the magic and wonder of giant, nature-inspired sculptures made out of LEGO bricks! The sculptures are built with over a half of a million LEGO bricks, some weighing more than 500 pounds, and each taking hundreds of hours to build!
