Jen and her son, Bryce, took me on a roadtrip to surprise Bryce's girlfriend, Corinne, in Nashville, TN where "Cori" goes to college for Valentine's Day! She thought Jen & Doug were trucking through TN and was planning on meeting up at the same restaurant that she really did meet Jen & Doug this past fall when they passed through town. Cori is from MA and she & Bryce graduated high school together. So she thought she was going to meet up with Jen and Doug but boy was she surprised to see it was really Jen and BRYCE! He was standing at the dinner table with a bouquet of flowers and she was truly surprised! Jen & I left them at the restaurant to have their own Valentine's dinner date to go to The Grand Ole Opry! We watched a country music concert there and it's aired on the radio live for people to listen to all over the world. We even got to tour backstage after the show and even stood ON the stage. Jen took my picture at the podium where all the radio announcements are given, it was SO fun. Lots of people saw Jen taking my picture and wanted to know where I was from and from what grade & school! It made me very happy to talk about TEAM MURPHY!
While in "Music City", we also went to The Johnny Cash Museum, The Country Music Hall of Fame, some good ol' honky tonk restaurants for more country music & southern food and to a really fancy hotel called The Opryland Hotel. I got a tour of Cori's college, which is called Lipscomb University. It was a wonderful way to spend Valentine's weekend & we made Miss Corinne super happy with a special surprise visit, especially since she is so far from home.
