Pumpkin’s visit to Washington DC to see cousins Stephen, Anna, and Rosa - November .
Pumpkin arrived on a plane with Aunt Rae for a visit with Stephen, Anna, and Rosa who live in Old Town Alexandria, just across the Potomac River from Washington DC, our nation’s capital.
Alexandria has been an important port city since the time the Native Americans lived here because of it’s access to the Atlantic Ocean by way of the Potomac River and was home to many of our forefathers including George Washington.

Pumpkin with Stephen and Rosa at Rosa’s school |
As soon as Rae and Pumpkin arrived, they went with Stephen to pick up Rosa from School. On Saturday, they went to the Old Town farmer’s market, the longest continually running farmers market in the US, and Pumpkin helped pick out apples. We also visited the Alexandria waterfront where you can see Washington DC in the background. Pumpkin also wrote about Alexandria in her journal so you will be able to read more when she returns. Pumpkin is off to New Berlin, Wisconsin next.
