I have good news & bad news from the road. Bad news first...our truck broke down right after our delivery in Minneapolis so we had to go to a mechanic & the good news is that it was a very short distance away and we were able to drive there. More bad news, it was going to take all night long for the truck to get fixed and we couldn't sleep in the truck but the good news is that there was a really nice hotel right across the street. Bad news is that it's c-c-cold here
in the Twin City area (Minneapolis & Saint Paul) of Minnesota...-38° wind chill factor but the good news is there was a fireplace in the hotel lobby so we warmed up right away.
Bad news is that we are losing an entire day driving to work in Idaho & Oregon but the good news is that we were able to rest real comfortably before even a harder push across the rest of the country. Bad news is that the cost to fix the truck was over $1500 but the good news is that all repairs were under warranty so the entire bill ended up being free! So things could be much worse here, we have lost a big chunk of time but we are safe, warm & on our way. More good news is that we are headed through North Dakota & Montana and Jen is super excited because they are 2 new states for her to visit (she has 3 more to visit before seeing all 50 states...South Dakota, Michigan & Alaska are the last 3 on her list...Doug has been to all but Alaska & Hawaii), but the bad news? It'll now be dark through almost all of North Dakota & some of Montana...we will see the sun rise in MT tomorrow, so that's some more good news...oh, and it will be above freezing! We are racing the sun the see Fargo, ND in daylight. :)
