Murphster in the Sleeper of the Rig

What time is like in the sleeper of the big rig...

We are all able to get fresh air in the back with our screen door (and a couple windows, too) and we have a dinette table to eat, do paperwork, use the computer, read, Jen paints her nails, I've made out postcards for your class, etc.

Murph & Doug in drivers seat of cab and Murph getting ready to make eggs for breakfast!

The kitchen area has a sink, cooktop stove, microwave that doubles as convection oven to bake & good size refrigerator w/freezer. We also have a toaster, coffee maker & blender.
We have a nice, big flat screen tv with satellite t.v. & dvd player complete with surround sound and we also have satellite radio that streams from the front of the cab into the back of the sleeper, too.
We are lucky to have a bathroom on board complete with a shower and we also have a full size bed.
In the winter we are warm & in the summer we are cool without running the truck engine. We have something called a generator that runs quietly to give us electricity when we need it whenever we want.
Jen set Murphster up for an afternoon of relaxing before her turn to drive...popcorn & the remote! :)

Our truck pretty much looks like an rv camper, so we can live in it comfortably while travelling. Not all trucks are as big as ours but for cross country drivers it's not uncommon.
I especially enjoy my time up front in what's called the cab (the driving area), the oversized leather seats are heated and Jen says that she uses hers even when it's not cold out because it feels so good on her aching back from doing hard loading & unloading of heavy equipment in the trailer and also from sitting too long & not always being able to stretch her legs on long hauls. But I mostly sit up on the dashboard to see all the cool sights along our travels!
I'm attaching some photos for you to check out what Doug & Jen's tractor trailer truck looks like on the inside.

  1. Dear Jen, Doug, and Murphster,
Thank you so much for sharing the photos of your Big Rig! It looks really nice! Murphster looks like he is living in luxury and enjoying himself tremendously! We think your truck looks like a house on wheels!
I hope you are all doing well! We miss Murphster but are happy to hear that he is truly enjoying his trip! He is so lucky!
    Sincerely,
    Team Murphy
