Washington State Welcomes Murphster

Check off WA state for me! We drove from Portland, OR over the Columbia River right into Vancouver, WA. It took all of 5 minutes!

It's funny because when I think of the "Pacific Northwest", as this area of the country is called, I picture it wet & rainy like one reads about or sees on tv...and guess what? That's exactly what it was like! The nice thing about it, though, is that the daytime temperatures here & in Oregon were in the 50s, so somedays Jen & Doug didn't even need their coats, most of the time it was just light jackets. The grass is green & lush and the strangest thing to me was the moss...moss on all the trees, the roads, the ground, the buildings...everywhere!

Oh and vines creeping everywhere, too! There are very, very tall trees here, mostly pine trees but some different types that we don't see back east. We went for a hike here in WA to see the great outdoors but it was pretty wet so Jen didn't take her camera out to take many pictures but she made sure to get me checking out a mossy tree & the tall pines.
We lucked out with two sunny, dry days while on the OR coast but most of the time it was dreary, overcast & quite foggy in a lot of places. I'm hoping for a little California sunshine, as it's been a pretty eventful trip, weather-wise!

Here's hoping...
